Pokémon Oceania Regional Championship: Perth

December 7 – 8, 2024

The Pokémon Oceania Regional Championship in Perth will be hosting a variety of Side Events running on both Saturday December 7th and Sunday December 8th for extra chances at winning some Championship Points and some fantastic prizes off our Prize Wall!

Whether you’re attending the event as a Spectator or you have been knocked out of the main tournament, Side Events are a great way to keep the games going throughout the weekend. There is something for everyone, with different events to cater to all skill levels.

On-Demand and Scheduled Side Events and Championship Point Events will take place for TCG, VG and Pokémon GO on both days. By participating in Side Events, you can earn Booster Packs, Championship Points and Prize Points that can be redeemed at our Prize Wall!

This year’s Regional Championships will feature a fully equipped prize wall where you can redeem your Prize Points for fabulous prizes, including Booster Packs, TCG Accessories, Pokémon Plushies and toys!

  • On-Demand Side Events will run throughout the event, and events will start once a complete pod of players is ready.
  • Scheduled Side Events are scheduled to start at a specific time each day. Registrations will open at the start of each day, and limited spots will be available for each event.
  • Championship Point events will be offered for TCG, VG, and Pokémon GO on both days of the event. Participating in these events can earn trainers additional Championship Points for their journey to Worlds. Registration for these events will open at a specific time, as announced at the event. Limited spots will be available for each event.

Some Side Events will require specific hardware or equipment to participate. These requirements are listed below, along with a description of each event. For those that are new to Pokémon, fear not, we have plenty of events that you can participate in without any prior experience or hardware needed!

Registration for On-Demand and Scheduled Side Events is available at the event. Card payments via EFTPOS will be available. Cash payments will not be available.

All information listed below should be used as a guide and is subject to change at Tournament Organizers’ discretion.

On-Demand Side Events

On-Demand Side Events will run on both days of the event and start as soon as there is a complete group. Registrations for On-Demand Side Events will start at 9 AM each day, with games starting from 9:30 AM for any complete groups.

TRADING CARD GAME EVENTS
Pack Battle – $12.50 Go Fish – $12.50
Pack Battles are a fun event where each player receives a pack to construct a 20-card deck, and then competes with special rules.
No prior knowledge of Pokémon TCG is required
Pokémon Go Fish is an adaptation of the classic card game using Pokémon cards. Players share one deck provided to them between all players.

Metronome – $12.50 Standard – $12.50
Players use their own 60-card decks in the Standard format. Every round, a new random rule will be applied to challenge players.

VIDEO GAME EVENTS
Current Regulation – $12.50 Little Cup – $12.50
A three-round competition in Double Battles using the Current Regulation rules.

A three-round competition in Double Battles using a team provided to competitors at random via battle codes.
Nintendo Switch and Pokémon Scarlet or Violet game required
POKÉMON GO EVENTS
Little Cup League – $12.50 Great League – $12.50

A three-found competition using the Little Cup format (500 CP or less, no evolved Pokémon).

A three-round competition using the Great League format (1500 CP or less).

Championship Point Events

Championship Point events will run on both days of the event on a set schedule.

2 PM Saturday – 32 Player Cap per Division 9 AM Sunday – 128 Player Cap per Division
Players use their own 60-card deck in the Standard format. Players will play a set number of Best of One Swiss matches.
Standard TCG Deck is required
Players use their own 60-card deck in the Standard format. Players will play a set number of Best of One Swiss matches. The Top Cut will then play Best of Three Single Elimination matches.

VIDEO GAME EVENTS

Scheduled Side Events

Scheduled side events will run on both days of the event on a set schedule. Events will run on both days of the event and start as soon as there is a complete group. Registrations for Scheduled Side Events will start at 9 AM each day, and close once each event reaches capacity.

TRADING CARD GAME EVENTS
Parents’ Tournament – $15 Gym Leader Challenge – $15
10 AM Saturday & Sunday – 32 Player Cap 12 PM Saturday & Sunday – 32 Player Cap
Open to any parents of young Trainers competing at the event. Players will be presented with a new, unique way to play the game and will play a set number of Best of One Swiss matches using these unique rules.
Standard TCG Deck is required
Players will provide their own 60-card deck in the Gym Leader Challenge format (using cards from Black and White to the present day, using only one type of Pokémon, and not using any banned cards). Players will play a set number of Best of One matches.
Gym Leader Challenge TCG Deck is required
VIDEO GAME EVENTS
Booster Draft Cup – $15
11 AM Saturday & Sunday – 32 Player Cap
Players build teams of 6 based on cards from packs received. Players have 30 minutes to team build, then compete in Doubles using the current regulation set.
Nintendo Switch and Pokémon Scarlet or Violet game is required
POKÉMON GO EVENTS
Catching Cup – $15
10 AM Saturday & Sunday – 32 Player Cap

Players will have 30 minutes at the start of the event to catch Pokémon and then power up, evolve or use TMs on them. Players will then play a set number of Best of Three Swiss matches using any Pokémon caught during this time in Great League matches (1500 CP or less).

SISTERHOOD LEAGUE

The Sisterhood League is a Side Event series to celebrate the women and non-binary Trainers in our community! An inclusive tournament open to those Trainers in attendance, we hope that these events serve to create a safe and welcoming space for our Trainers.
